I know how much you enjoy your research, and I agree that it makes me feel more confident about a period piece when I have a breadth of knowledge at my disposal to ensure really granular accuracy, but I feel like the general approach to fanfiction overall is that historical accuracy is sort of a nice bonus that can be cool to see rather than an absolute necessity that's going to impact the success of the story in any meaningful way.
