[Gen Kill Book] Weekly Book Club.

I'm re-reading Generation Kill over the course of the next 8 weeks.

To make it a little more interesting I'll be organizing a "Weekly GK Book Club". The idea is to read a few chapters, and then discuss them at the end of each week. Every Sunday I will make a post with my some of my thoughts, over on my journal, and open up for discussion in the comments.

Planned timeline for the Generation Kill book club:
10 May: Prologue – Chapter 3 (Pages 1-54)
17 May: Chapter 4 – 6 (Pages 55-99)
24 May: Chapter 7 – 10 (Pages 100-154)
31 May: Chapter 11 – 14 (Pages 155-214)
7 May: Chapter 15 – 20 (Pages 215-276)
14 June: Chapter 21 – 25 (Pages 277-335)
21 June: Chapter 26 – 31 (Pages 336-397)
28 June: Chapter 32 – End (Pages 398-463)

Some more details and info.

Please feel free to come join in on the fun!

[Newsletter] LLSS Mail Call Crosspost: 5 May 2020

Two U.S. recon Marines stand side-by-side and observe a distant scene.

For the next two weeks in Field Maneuvers, Colonel Kink would like to highlight gen, that is fills that are about things other than romantic or sexual relationships. Consider the friendship, the rivalry, the mentorship, the family relationship, or someone's personal reflections. Try searching the humble ampersand (&) on the prompts list, or looking for prompts only listing one character. Please remember that while fills containing background romantic/sexual relationships can qualify for this theme, the focus of your work shouldn't be on them.

(If you're not trying to get extra points in the Field Maneuvers game, please feel free to fill anything you like!)

For the latest prompts and current game scoring, check out today's issue of our newsletter.
