OMG, they haaaaaaaaaaaated each other. So much. Well, mostly Nix seemed to hate Buck for no reason anyone can describe, and Buck retaliated by trying to avoid Nix. (Nix's actions included making Buck lead PT in his service uniform! Every day! And calling him a coward for leaving the line at Bastogne in 1980.) Tec's written some good hate fucking for them.

Anyway, I'll to be honest try to soften a few edges because I can't handle how horrifyingly Tea Party he is, but there is a post-war Don/Buck college fic on the books. Need to reread the post-war section of Don's book too.
