I'm really, really late with participant prompts this year, but hey! Better late than never!

If you'd like to treat someone, the only rules are that you respect their do-not-wants. There are no word count minimums or maximums and there's no limit to how many treats you can offer. When you've finished a treat, you can post it to the Heavy Artillery Rare Pair Exchange 2023 Treats collection, over on AO3.

A few of the participants have elected to keep their names anonymous. If you would like to fill a prompt for an anonymous participant, just leave a comment on this post with the participant's number and I'll provide you with the names of the people whose requests you'd like to fill so that you can gift your treat accordingly.

• BoB: Joe Liebgott/Ed Tipper. Postwar (reunion? recovery? a few years into an established relationship? whatever strikes your fancy); alternate canon/alternate postwar (maybe Tipper never gets wounded and is there during Bastogne etc? Medic!Liebgott? Open to anything!)


• BoB: George Luz/anyone though prefer not Buck. Filling gaps in canon or postwar, maybe? I'm cool with supernatural elements or alternate canon. Not choosy as long as it's somewhat canon-adjacent (no modern AUs). I like to see George depicted as pretty competent so maybe he has a knack for something you wouldn't expect?


• TP: Sid Phillips/Eugene Sledge. Postwar recovery/healing, immediately after the war or some time later. Feel free to include Mary Houston!


• TP: Lena Riggi Basilone/Vera Keller. So they never met in canon. Small obstacle! Maybe something about how they met and got together? Can reference past relationships to John and/or Bob, or leave them out entirely.


• TP: Leckie/anyone: I just want someone to notice that this man is lonely and good at hiding it. Love an established relationship.

Do-Not-Wants: No dubcon/noncon, no omegaverse, porn is good but only if it comes with plot

• Bill "Hoosier" Smith/Robert Leckie. I adore these two, and anything goes. For inspiration: Post-war recovery fic. The less palatable symptoms of PTSD. Mentions and/or focus on Hoosier being an Indiana farm boy at the core. Leckie's less than great family.

• Shawn "Pappy" Patrick/Rudy Reyes. Anything canon-compliant, canon-divergent or post-canon that focuses on the intimacy of a spotter-sniper pair. A lil bit of magical realism is alright if it fits. Can be Gen if you prefer.


• Brad/Walt. D/s dynamics with soft Dom!Brad and sub!Walt. Preferably smut, but the dynamic is what's important.

Do-Not-Wants: Brad/Nate. Nate Fick in any capacity, really. AUs unless otherwise stated.

• BoB: Renee/Anna: I'd love a fic where they knew each other before the war, and all the different little connections in their lives. And/Or post-war Renee lives AU. OR! Renee dies and haunts Anna. I'm happy calling her Anna or Augusta, and using RL details or not. I'd prefer the story not be completely about racism, though of course it can be an element. No modern AUs, please, but adding magic etc to the canon setting is fine.


• BoB: Women We Don't See Grab Bag: I would love anything about the relationships and connections between some of the sisters/girlfriends/wives of the guys. Some of my favourites are Ann Winters, Blanche Nixon, Kathy Nixon, Pat Martin, Frannie Peca/Guarnere, DeEtta Almon, but take your pick. Apparently Frannie Peca and Pat Martin were pen pals, for example. How did they see the war? Or just go totally tropey romance and write some femslash with lots of pining and hot smut, lol. I'd love gen or femslash, and am happy with poly arrangements, open marriages, etc, if you want to include the guys.


• BoB: Joe Toye Post War Happiness Project: I'd love anything where Joe learns to live again and heals after the war, maybe breaks free of his old life and has adventures. I love Joe/Don, Joe/Earl, Joe/Bill, Joe/Buck (or some combination of them). I love stuff with period queer culture and blurry gender lines, and complicated trauma, figuring out how to navigate disability. However, I also would love a light and fluffy romance with lots of tropes and adventures. Or throw all this out and do canon era with any of these guys, how they met, Paris gay bars, whatever strikes your fancy. I'd be absolutely delighted with anything for any of these pairings.


• Buck Compton Gets Over Himself: I'm happy with Buck/Luz, Buck/Don, Buck/Joe Toye, or other pairings or gen combinations that strike your fancy, but I'd really love more about Buck dealing with repression, and trying to figure out where he fits in the world where what he's been told about masculinity, and what he feels like he wants to be finally come to a head. Could be exploring kink, or trying to get involved with the gay community, crossdressing, getting therapy, or just being fucking happy for once. I love post-war trauma recovery, but any period appreciated. I admit a longing for an AU where he becomes a minor league baseball player after the war. I'd prefer to avoid plots about him becoming a lawyer or going into politics.

Do-Not-Wants: No modern AUs, please, but adding magic etc to the canon setting is fine. I don't really care about Speirs, but he's fine as a minor character. I'd rather the endings weren't 100% bleak. No bashing or badmouthing female characters.

• TP: I'd really like some Chuckler and Hoosier content. Friends or pairing, either works for me.

• BoB: Randlemartin - Johnny discovers he and Bull are soul mates. He is not initially pleased.


• BoB: Dick/Harry - Dick is clueless about the intricacies of gay sex. Bi King Harry thinks this is unacceptable and volunteers himself as a mentor.


• BoB: Guarnere/Toye - Who made the first move? Was it a prolonged gay chicken situation? Was it just fooling around until one of them realized it was more?


• GK: Doc Bryan/Nate - just literally anything for this pairing. I’m rabid and desperate.

Do-Not-Wants: No breaking up Winnix just to break them up. Pre-relationship is fine, AU where they aren’t together is fine, one dies is fine. Just no breaking up to be with somebody else xD. Literally everything else goes— death, bdsm, graphic stuff, it’s all good.

• GK: Brad Colbert/ Walt Hasser. Something with a light (or heavy) D/s dynamic to it- whether it includes other parts of BDSM or not doesn’t matter, it’s just that look Walt gives Brad where he just needs the man to take over and make all the decisions for him please, that needs to be captured. I just want Brad to take care of Walt, and to find his own healing through that. Can be in canon or post-war or even an AU.


• GK: Doc Bryan/ Ray Person. These two are so alike and also SO different, and I just think it works. Doc would totally grow an appreciation for Rays everything. What if they hooked up before they ended up in Bravo together? Or honestly anything w these two, as fluffy or angsty or dirty as you’d like. Doc helping Ray through some hurt, physical or otherwise, and Ray paying him back in kind would also be awesome. I would not turn down a Soulmates or Magical Realism AU either.


• GK: Pappy Patrick/Rudy Reyes. Either a story of them getting together way back when, or of them figuring it out post OIF? Or during OIF? One last make out sesh before Pappy has to shave the mustache?? 😂 Would also love a soulmates AU or a sentinel/guide type thing might fit for them. Again, can be canon compliant or an AU.

• TP: Lena Riggi/Stella Karamanlis - post war, meeting while travelling, ships that pass in the night, letter-writing

• BoB: Webster/Lt. Jones - I want these two intellectual nerds to commiserate and pine! Even if they are pining for others and they just try to help each other out. Prompts: Lt. Jones needs Web to show him the ropes (whether sexual or not); they can't sleep and they run into each other; one sees the other reading.


• BoB: Liebgott/Roe or Liebgott/Nixon or Liebgott/Grant or Liebgott/Tab. I just like to see how others might deal with Liebgott's angst and anger. A character doing something nice for Lieb would be wonderful, or maybe someone gets fed up with him and starts shit?


• BoB: Nixon/Anyone - I think Nix is very shippable!! Prompts: Friends with benefits, trying to avoid feelings but feeling them anyway, "thank god we're alive" hook up, drinking games, killing time, teaching someone else about sex as a favor.


• GK: Brad Colbert/Doc Bryan - I just want to see them being salty together. Prompts: post-canon random hook up, surfing, some kind of job brings them together again in the future, Brad gets shot or hurt or sick (please nothing terminal) and Doc tries to take care of him or check up on him.


• GK: Nate Fick/Mike Wynn - I love the way Nate can depend on Mike. All the Older man/Younger man tropes here please! Pining during canon and reconnecting post-canon are two favorite tropes for this fandom.

Do-Not-Wants: Soul mate AU, Modern AU, A/B/O, Non-con

• BoB: Thomas Peacock/Edward Shames: everything sweet. Gimme fluff, gimme romance, gimme little slices of life between them falling in love during the war or afterwards. If you want to go somewhere else but canon, feel free to go for soulmate!AUs, werewolf!AUs, omegaverse, arranged marriages too.


• BoB: Lewis Nixon/Ronald Speirs or Ronald Speirs/Richard Winters. Love these dorks falling in love, especially if they move from a friends/friends with benefits to lovers. Love the fluff, a little smut, and Nix/Dick being worried for Speirs on the field. Maybe having someone he cares for could mellow him a little bit? You can go with as little or as much smut as you want, but gimme fluff <3 Feel free to go for soulmate!AUs, werewolf!AUs or omegaverse.

Do-Not-Wants: DNW: angst, character death, degradation, gore, blood, pregnancies, genderswaps, medical details, torture, non con, homophobia, scat, infidelity (it's okay about Nix and his wife, it's not like he was faithful to his wife anyway) or betrayal, first and second person pov. No college!AU, no modern!AU.

• BoB: Floyd Talbert/Dick Winters: I would love to see a long-form fic where Dick and Tab reconnect several years after the war. Can be angsty post-Winnix breakup style, but as this is Rare Pair I'd prefer that not to be the focus. I'd be especially down for some farm!fic, where either Dick joins Tab out in California or Tab, for some reason, winds up in Lancaster and they tend their land together. Maybe Dick still does his weird chicken stuff, I don't know. Triple points if they keep bees.


• Bob: Blanche Nixon/Ann Winters: Okay, listen. I will take anything for this pairing. Anything. (Excepting DNWs, of course.) BUT! I would kill for a canon-era baseball AU. It was the heyday of the All-American Girls Professional Baseball League and I just don't think we talk about that enough! Or, hey, maybe they meet through their brothers and strike up an unlikely friendship that becomes more! Maybe Ann left home for New York while Dick was away at war and she works as a waitress in the diner where Blanche has her hangover coffee every morning after spending her nights out partying with the high society jet-setters and they fall in love! Maybe they're fucking Vikings or something, I don't know! COME ON, Y'ALL, THEY'RE BASICALLY OC'S THIS IS SUCH FERTILE GROUND I'M BEGGING YOU.


• BoB/TP: David Kenyon Webster/Robert Leckie: Listen. I don't know how they'd even meet but you can't deny that they would be fucking unbearable together. I want to see all the pedantry and self aggrandizing behavior on full and ridiculous display. I want everyone who meets them to loathe that they're together because it makes them 10,000% more obnoxious but also to be forced to grudgingly admit that they're goddamn perfect for each other, the assholes. Please no modern AUs.


• TP: Robert Leckie/Bud "Runner" Conley: Pre-canon shenanigans when they're in training! (Lord knows Leckie got up to enough.) Or maybe after the war, Runner comes to where Leckie is to say hi and hang for a bit and he just...never leaves. Double points, in the latter instance, for supportive Vera, and supportive Mr. and Mrs. Leckie's Parents. As patented hooligans, these two also feel like a pair primed for a good trope-y AU. Double bonus for getting the whole of the How Co. ensemble in there somehow.


• TP:
  DeEtta Almon/Lena Riggi: Like with Ann/Blanche, I will take anything! Maybe they meet during some kind of crossover event pre-canon and have a sexy fling! Maybe they both go career military after the war is over and find each other that way! Maybe they're both out of the military but meet elsewhere and wind up bonding! I'm open to anything, really.


• TP: Sid Phillips/Eugene Sledge/Mary Houston Phillips or Sid Phillips/Eugene Sledge: I don't know, I just have a lot of feelings about Mary helping Sid find himself when he gets back from the war and the two of them seeing Sledge struggle through much of the same shit and taking it upon themselves to try and help him, too, only to slowly realize over the course of time that they're dating and have been for a WHILE. Also, this one is kind of out there, but I would love if, in addition to helping him cope with his experiences during the war, Mary and Sid also help Sledge figure out he's genderqueer, even if they don't have the modern terminology for it. Any of these tropes/themes is also great with Sid/Sledge, I would just prefer Mary not be made into a villain if she appears in the fic. In fact, bonus points for supportive beard Mary Houston!


• TP: Bill "Hoosier" Smith/Robert Leckie: I like the trope of a dry witted, stalwart type who falls in love with the one who can't stop running his mouth. I would make an exception to my usual "no modern AUs" rule here if someone was interested in a Justified AU for these fellas, but would otherwise prefer either canon or post-war recuperation.
