I'm currently writing Liebgott/Webster for Spicy Advent, and trying to work out how much banter I need to include WHILE they're having sex. It seems like they're oddly quiet given other fic I've written where they would not shut the fuck up, but at the same time, I don't want to seem like a one trick pony with their banter. Also I should finish this fic today.

Well, sex is different every time, right? So maybe contextually there's something happening in this fic that's got them in a different headspace than they were in some of your others, but regardless I don't think you need to have them bantering while fucking.

If you feel like the scene is working without it, I doubt you'll gain anything by adding it in after the fact, y'know? And as someone who frequently wishes they could get a proper handle on writing less banter to get to the sexy bits faster, I think readers—if they notice at all—will be perfectly willing to forgive a slightly lower than average level of back-and-forth in exchange for a fast track to the scorching porn.

Yeah, that's a good point. This is set during Points, so it's after a bit more trauma than my earlier stuff. But your comment just gave me a really good idea that maybe Joe is finding that Web is oddly quiet, but doesn't QUITE know why, and I could work that into the emotional resolution.

Slammed down about 1k the other day on a LLSS prompt. Gotta figure out direction/outline the story before I just end up waffling on forever, ha. Hopefully I can squeeze in another writing stint before I go on holidays at the end of the week though! Fingers crossed for meee
