Date: 22/01/2020 19:19 (UTC)Ugh, the idea of sleeping in a flood, and then having to try and roll out of those screened hammocks during an attack. It's amazing anyone could see anything during those night raids.
I wouldn't have thought Leckie would be placed in intelligence as a private, but it looks like that didn't last long. Especially in the gloom and dank of constant rain, which none of them would have been used to even in better conditions, I can see why suicides would occur.
Funny how conditions could be so different not that far away, with Leckie's hospital stay and that compound seeming like a paradise by comparison. Though I guess he still wasn't getting much sleep for different reasons.
Given what Leckie saw, I actually think it's rather comforting that Gibson ended up being there in the hospital, except that it was probably more due to plane theft than his behavior. Rather tragic scene that final goodbye.
