i love how he like... refers to germs as though he doesn't quite believe they exist, like he'll use them to scare sledge off, bc sledge is the type who prolly does believe in germs, but merriell shelton gave it some thought and he Has His Doubts. meanwhile if he were living in the modern world he'd absolutely believe in chem trails and alien abductions

The absolute best part about that scene, imo, is that in reality it's not even Snafu who warns Sledge off because of germs. Like, one of the iconic Sledgefu scenes and in actuality it was a Navy corpsman who was like, "Hey bud, nah."

I feel like modern!Snafu is absolutely one of those guys who would start believing conspiracies to troll other people (and some of them probably are just for comedy) but he would get taken in by a few of them and start really buying in. Not in a like, agoraphobe with a wall full of evidence attached by strings sort of way, but in the way where he'd casually mention over drinks with the boys that Area 51 is just a cover-up for a real secret government facility studying alien life forms that have crash landed onto the planet. (Spoiler alert: this is probably an AU where either Sledge is secretly Not From Earth or Snafu himself is.)
