There is seriously so much fic I CANNOT keep up with it right now. It's wild!

However, some highlights I've recently loved:

Christmas with the battered bastards by 3milesup
Super sweet Luz-centric Christmas fic.

A non-me human writes Andy/Eddie and it's WONDERFUL! There's pining. There's fluff. I love it.

Really sweet, really hot Sledgefu wherein Eugene is relieved of his butt virginity.

I recently found out that Andy Haldane was voted Sigma Nu of the year when he was a senior, which gives me joy because I think literally any time I've looked up a single fact about that man, it turns out he's won an award related to that fact.

Not really a scenario for a fic but I'm now I'm picturing people trying to think of increasingly random things and Andy having to admit he's a five-time egg and spoon race champion or something.

I still want to know what "perfect lover" entails, and how that was decided!

I've vaguely done this, but I do want to do fic where Eddie has to spend time in Andy's home town, and is increasingly entertained by this nonsense, while Andy's getting to the point where he's trying to kick trophies under the bed every time he goes into a room.

Eddie arrives at Andy's family home.

Andy goes to hang up his coat.

Opens the closet door and is promptly knocked over by a flood of trophies and medals.

I'm reading Guadalcanal Diary right now as research for the 'Bama boys and it mentions the attack on and subsequent scuttling of the George F. Elliott, which is the ship that carried Leckie et. al. to Guadalcanal in the first place, and the history nerd in me continues to think it's so cool to have all these differing, often first-hand perspectives of the same events. It adds a certain robustness to my personal understanding of the "canon," such as it is, that it's impossible to replicate outside of historical fandoms.

I have that but haven't read it yet, how is it? You should post a review when you're done.

The amount of related digging you can do in historical RPF fandoms just pleases me to no end. It's exactly the kind of thing that makes my squirrel brain happy.

It's okay! Little racist, but the minutiae are very interesting and potentially useful so far.

I think I ran into it as a reference for predominant attitudes of American troops towards the Japanese, written more or less in period.

So I was expecting a bit racist.

What made me happy today: getting to talk about Andy/Eddie on discord today, and the fact that I have 6 tabs of fic waiting to be read. I may not get to all of them tonight but I love that there's so much fic to read lately.

Yes, that was fun. I'm considering making the Andy falls in a ditch fic, and the subsequent post war fic all part of the Just One Storm universe, but haven't settled on it yet.
