[Discussion] The Battle of the Monday Blahs

*Pours one out for everyone who wished they had more writing time* Welp.

However, let's have some things we love about this fandom/canon:

  • Post about bits of canon you currently love/are thinking about.

  • What random related facts delight you?

  • Rec a fanwork you've recently discovered or revisited for the hundredth time.

  • Actor just that damn pretty you have to share a pic or gif? Share one!

What's making you happy in HBO War Fandom this week, folks?

I'm reading Guadalcanal Diary right now as research for the 'Bama boys and it mentions the attack on and subsequent scuttling of the George F. Elliott, which is the ship that carried Leckie et. al. to Guadalcanal in the first place, and the history nerd in me continues to think it's so cool to have all these differing, often first-hand perspectives of the same events. It adds a certain robustness to my personal understanding of the "canon," such as it is, that it's impossible to replicate outside of historical fandoms.

It's okay! Little racist, but the minutiae are very interesting and potentially useful so far.
