[EVENT]D-Day Prompt Fest 2021!

It's that time of year again, y'all! Welcome to Heavy Artillery's second annual D-Day Prompt Fest!

To participate, simply leave a prompt in a comment on this post, or fill one of the posts that's been left. There is no minimum word count required for a fill to qualify, and you are welcome to fill prompts more than once, though I would ask that in the spirit of camaraderie you try and fill unfilled prompts before adding additional fills to prompts that have already been filled.

Because this event is centered specifically around the Allied invasion of Normandy, all prompts must be inspired by/have to do with said event, and they must all involve Band of Brothers. You're welcome to request crossovers or characters from other HBO War properties, so long as your prompt is rooted in Band of Brothers. Likewise, you're welcome to request original characters or reader fic, so long as your prompt doesn't require consumption of additional media or extensive knowledge of said original characters to fill.

You're welcome to post your fill as a response to the prompt comment, or by uploading it to the AO3 collection, which you can find by clicking here. The fest will run until Sunday, July 4, 2021. All fills will be collected into a masterlist the following Monday, and any un-filled prompts will be entered into the Loose Lips Sink Ships Prompt Meme in the hopes they may be filled in the future.

Nix slips Dick his compass just before the jump. Says it’s lucky and it better be on him when they reunite after the jump and Dick can be sure he’s going to personally check.

Luz & Roe or Luz/Roe

George Luz & Gene Roe (you can try for Luz/Roe if that's the way your fancy takes you), shortly pre the jump, hearing radio broadcasts aimed at occupied France. If anyone in Easy could and would tune the shortwave bands, it'd so be Luz, and if he landed on, say, the BBC's coded alerts to the Résistance... I imagine him trying to translate French by filtering it through his own Portuguese, tripping up, and bugging Roe for translation help. Little do the two of them know that the misquoted poem line they've just heard has great significance...
