Bud 'Runner' Conley/Robert Leckie
1K+, no major archive warnings apply

Summary: "Holdin’ up alright, there, Peaches?" Runner asked, voice low in deference to the sleeping Marines slumped across every surface, and brought a hand up to rest against Bob’s shoulders.

"Oh, sure." Bob nodded as well as he could, folded over the water-slick taffrail like a sack doll. "Fit ‘s a - urp." He pressed his mouth closed and squeezed his eyes shut, wrinkling his nose when the captured breath burned its way out. He stayed there for a long second, gut tight and nostrils stinging, then sighed, "Fiddle," when he felt confident he was no longer about to lose the evening’s mess over the bow.

“Hmm?” Eddie dragged his fingers up over the crown of Andy’s head and back down again.

Andy groaned, eyes rolling even though they were still closed, and sighed, “Y’r singin’.”

“Oh.” Eddie’s fingers stilled for a second and then he curled his hand into a self-conscious fist against the ball of Andy’s shoulder, brushing his knuckles up and down. “Ain’t nothin’. Just a song I like.”

It was recently brought to my attention that I allowed the 10th anniversary of the air date of the first episode of The Pacific to slip by without comment. To mitigate my shame, and to celebrate what this series has meant to us all as a part of the HBO War oeuvre, Heavy Artillery will be running a 10th Anniversary Comment Fest from now until the air date of the final episode in the series, May 16th.

To participate, just drop a comment below with a prompt relating to The Pacific and eagerly await a fill from one of your HBO War fandom fellows. Think of it as a mini-meme, where the name of the game is short and sweet!

Every fill posted by May 16, 2020 will be added to a collection on AO3, if possible, and to a masterlist here on Heavy Artillery. As per always, if there are any questions you’re welcome to reach out to yours truly via Dreamwidth, Tumblr, or Discord for clarification.

Now, go! Go forth and flood the world with some Pacific Theatre goodness!
