[tumblr.com profile] basilone was doing up a gifset of Joe's assist when Tab gets stabbed in "Carentan," and it reminded me of how Joe would have been a stone cold bad ass of a medic.

Long and discusses injuries )

Which is all to say that I'd love to see an AU where Joe's a medic, especially if the rest of his feral "fuck as punctuation" and "trolling Web about comics" stuff is kept in play. Though he'd probably be immensely annoyed at not getting to shoot things.

So, awhile ago, myself and a number of other people compiled a list of Easy Company birthdays, and just before the rewatch this weekend—or maybe during it? I honestly don't remember—the question of height came up, so we put together a list of the guys in order of height, too.

Sharing it here with thanks to [personal profile] muccamukk, [personal profile] zippitgood, [personal profile] slightlytookish, and [personal profile] arwen88 for their help in inspiring/populating these lists. (If I left anybody of the contributor list I'm so sorry, the birthday thing was just honestly so long ago.)

It's very much Winters and Nixon-focused, but would probably be of use to the fandom generally for the war stuff.

Sources: This is based on a combination of newspaper reports, obituaries, Beyond Band of Brothers: The War Memoirs of Major Dick Winters by Dick Winters and Cole C. Kingseed, Biggest Brother: The Life of Major Dick Winters, the Man Who Led the Band of Brothers by Larry Alexander, "Operations of the 101st Airborne Division in the Invasion of France" found on Archive.org, and Wikipedia. Where conflicting information has been found, we've tried to indicate it. I'm shitty at sourcing individual items, but if you want to know about any of them, please ask.

All corrections and additions welcome. Thank you to [personal profile] kunstarschloch (especially for Nixon family history) and [personal profile] scandalinbohemia for your contributions!
