What better way to kick off a new community than with the announcement that the final piece of the HBOWar WWII trilogy is coming to Apple TV+ sometime in the (relatively) near future?

Thank you [personal profile] zippitgood for bringing this exciting news to my attention!

Based on a book of the same name, Masters of the Air will focus on a personal favorite unit of mine, the Mighty Eighth Air Force! Hanks and Spielberg are, of course, back onboard, with John Orloff—who wrote "Day of Days" and "Why We Fight" in the original BoB series—returning to the writers' room.

Masters of the Air is expected to be eight episodes. No news on casting as of yet, but I, for one, am very excited, and I hope you are too!

If you're interested in learning more about the Mighty Eighth before the series airs, aside from reading its namesake book, you might also be interested in The Bomber Boys—which I have on my reading list but have not read and so can't specifically speak to—and The Mighty Eighth—which I have read and enjoyed fairly well.

I CAN'T WAIT FOR THIS ONE Y'ALL!
